  • Dolly Parton Reaches Out to Victims of Tennessee Wildfires

Dolly May Be a Big Star, But She Hasn't Forgotten the People in Her Home State!

If there's one thing that sets country music stars apart, is that they stay true to their roots — no matter how many stadiums they play or gold records they earn. In fact, many of our favorite country stars still have a home in the state where they grew up! Many also participate in charitable activities in their home states, especially when the state has been hit by a natural disaster such as tornado, flood or fire.

Country legend Dolly Parton is a perfect example of this, as she recently issued a statement about the massive and devastating wildfires in Tennessee. In it, she expresses sympathy for everyone affected, and gratitude that her Dollywood Theme Park is safe. Parton had already teamed up with Smokey the Bear for a video to help prevent forest fires in the Great Smoky Mountains, a particular concern since Tennessee is experiencing a massive drought.
