Her forthcoming album is named “Midwest Farmer’s Daughter” because Price is exactly that: She was raised in the small town of Aledo, Ill., but her parents lost the family farm due to financial problems.

She knows how to handle herself

In 2005, a music exec in Nashville set up a meeting and dropped something in her drink. “I learned pretty quickly I had to be careful,” she told nashvillescene.com.

Despite Price's struggles, she appears to be on the verge of an incredible professional breakthrough. Add to that the support of her husband, who plays in her band, and her 5-year-old son Judah, and you have one amazing life story!
