Before Brantley even went on tour he actually received a Purple Heart from Staff Sgt. Justin Patterson because he was moved by the artist’s efforts to support veterans.

Receiving that gift alone really humbled him and brought him to tears…

Brantley Gilbert had the opportunity to do a USO tour and said the experience changed his life.
“We were playin’ about 90 minutes and we spent some time doin’ some meet-and-greets and stuff.” After every show we stayed ‘til the whole base came through, and signed everything they had and shook hands with ‘em. I’m tellin’ you man, it was a life-changing experience. It was wild, man.”

Gilbert also recently volunteered to perform at a benefit show in support of the families of four Marines who were shot and killed in Chattanooga, Tenn. on July 16. A date has not yet been set for the show.
