There's an art and a process that goes into song writing. Some people have that raw talent and for others it may be harder to access that part of the brain. Those that are seasoned writers, draw from inspiration or try to find what motivates them and is relatable to others.
For Carrie Underwood, inspiration came a little easy for her, after going through her first pregnancy and experiencing her first few months of motherhood. Underwood explained how the words just poured out when she wrote about her three month old son, Isaiah.
Even though she was able to have two hit singles in 2014: “Little Toy Guns” and “Something in the Water,” which won multiple awards, I think she is due for another full-length album. Hopefully her upcoming album will be released before 2016. Though, now that she's a mommy, I believe it will give her more motivation to push it through quickly.
