  • Charlie Daniel’s & His Band Delivers A Tribute Dedicated To The ‘Fallen Heroes’ Of 9/11

Shame on PBS for pulling it off air! 9/11 effected everyone worldwide – The severity of that day shouldn't have been sugar coated.

This emotional performance was reportedly too serious for PBS to air on the upbeat television special it was filmed for. Which isn't difficult to understand considering the solemn nature of “The Last Fallen Hero”. Inspired by the tragic events on September 11, 2001, the song has a significant meaning to many Americans.

9/11 has become a day in history that we could never forget. American lives were changed forever the day. The coordinated terrorist attacks were carried out that morning by al-Qaeda, an Islamist extremist group, which killed 2,977 people. Over a decade later, we still remember 9/11 and always will.

In 2002, The Charlie Daniels Band released “The Last Fallen Hero” off of their Redneck Fiddlin' Man album. The album landed at #40 on the Top Country Albums chart, featuring duets with Travis Tritt and Garth Brooks.

Despite being pulled from the PBS special they were slated for, The Charlie Daniels Band was adamant about honoring our troops on the first Fourth of July after 9/11. The performance aired on PBS during an alternate time. Below is “The Last Fallen Hero” performance, along with a heart-wrenching video slideshow of the devastation that pierced our country.
