  • Country Music Legend Jim Ed Brown Passes Away From Unlikely Cancer

Country music artists came out in force to pay their respects to Country Music Hall of Famer, Jim Ed Brown, who passed away on June 11, 2015.  With a recording career that spanned 55 years and a popular radio host, he was a well-known and liked member of the Country Music community.

An active member of the Grand Ole Opry, Brown was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame shortly before his death. With his sisters, Maxine and Bonnie, Brown formed a singing group in the early 1950's.  Their biggest hit, “The Three Bells,” reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 pop and country charts. The band disbanded in 1967.

That didn't stop Brown.  He began a solo singing career which led to a successful TV syndicated series, “The Country Place,” where the likes of Crystal Gayle got their start. He was also known for his duets with Helen Cornelius in the late 70's and early 80's.

Because Brown was such an influence in Country Music and one of the most talented ones out there his service was a star-studded event. Maranda Lambert, Bill Anderson, TG Shepard and Dirks Bentley all paid their respects to the music legend.
