  • Country Outlaw Whitey Morgan & His Favorite Type Of Music

When you think about old school country, do you think Flint, Michigan?  My guess is probably not. Would you be surprised to learn that's where Whitey Morgan was born and raised?

Harking back to the days of Waylon, Willie and honky tonks, Morgan and the 78's are proving that Midwest boys can do “outlaw” country music very well, thank you very much.  Their following is mainly word-of-mouth, playing practically non-stop, and energizing audiences all across the country.

The music they play has been described as: raw, gritty and emotional.

Whity's grandfather taught him old country songs on a Gibson guitar at an early age. Staring out at clubs in the Flint area, Morgan and his friends were playing punk rock. But when his grandfather passed away, leaving Morgan his beloved Gibson, country music seemed a more natural choice.

Find out his favorite “outlaw” country songs and who he is heavily influenced by going to the next page!
