  • Dolly Parton Talks Being Fake vs. Authentic When It Comes To Country Music

Embracing her true self as a performer, an artist and “all woman,” Dolly not only faced harsh words when it came to those she loved most; but outsiders began to question her authenticity on and off stage… based on appearance alone.

“I know I look totally artificial, but I’d like to think I’m real where it really counts,” she said while discussing why it can be damaging to only go off first impressions. “It’s how people treat one another and what they do and the way they do it—that’s what should matter.”

Unaware of what she has come through to be where she is today — and unaware of her totally genuine personality — many continue to talk down on our superstar goddess. When really, they should focus on the message that Dolly has challenged the world with, saying “Be Yourself.”

There is no one like you. So, embrace you. Be empowered. Share your story of “authenticity” below!
