When she was doing her interview for Cosmopolitan Magazine, Carrie Underwood revealed some shocking information about how Country Music is to a lot of women.
Here Is What She Said…
Carrie Underwood is one of the most recognizable women not just in country music, but on the planet but she says she’s the exception, not the rule, for the recognition women get in the industry.
“When I go to vote for the Country Music Awards, I have to write in names — I can think of, like, three who are really active,” Underwood explains (quote via Billboard). “Women have to work harder to get half the recognition. I am one of the lucky ones.”
The artist just co-hosted the CMA Awards next to Brad Paisley for the eighth consecutive year, taking turns making lighthearted jabs at everything from women in country being called “tomatoes” to the amount of divorces piling up this year.
