At 21 years of age, Kelsea Ballerini has taken the Country Music Scene by storm. In only 2 years, she's accomplished what some artists struggle to achieve in a lifetime. She hit Number One with her single “Love Me Like You Mean It,” becoming the first female solo country artist since Carrie Underwood, and the 11th ever, to score a No. 1 hit with a debut single.
She's talented, out-spoken and adorable as all get out. She's a storyteller, like the country artists of old, but with her own spin. Even though Taylor Swift considers Ballerini a friend, it looks like they won't be competing – Ballerini plans to keep her music in the country and not go the cross-over route. She does admit that her songs are influenced by pop music, but her “heart is in country music.”
You have to realize, though, that Ballerini is still young. She's barely out of her teens. She's a mature 21 year old, but her new music video reflects the kid in her.
