A well-known country music artist was arrested Monday (July 20) after allegedly pushing his girlfriend down the stairs.

The victim told authorities that Phillips threw [her] makeup bag, curling iron and other items down the stairs. As she bent down to pick up some of her stuff, Phillips allegedly pushed her from behind, which caused her to roll head first down the staircase.

Phillips was arrested on suspicion domestic violence.
