Sturgill Simpson is probably one of the most hard working, tenacious Country Music Artists out there. For him to receive this opportunity from Downtown Music Publishing is a big deal and couldn't be more proud of him.
Surprisingly, a lot of people didn't know if Sturgill was going to make it or not in the industry… from the start he was purely independent and did not have many people backing him up. Actually, he took many breaks from music, had a few odd jobs and even was in the Military at one point.
In 2013 after his first album release, ‘High Top On The Mountain,' Sturgill was finally noticed for his efforts and was indited into Country Music.
For him to have Downtown Music Publishing under his belt as a label is pretty exciting and we can not wait to hear what happens to him in the future!
