The menu items looked great, the owner seemed legit… and even the name behind the restaurant was good…. so what happened?
In 2008 Toby turned his restaurant dream into a reality and opened a honky-tonk bar named after his hit song, “I Love This Bar.” Toby opened the very first I Love This Bar & Grill in Mesa Riverview, AZ, and soon after, opened fourteen more across the country.
The Pheonix New Times reported,
The sole Phoenix location of Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, a chain of country music-themed hybrid bar/restaurant/performance venues unceremoniously closed its doors on Tuesday. The spot's Facebook page has been deleted and its phone is no longer in operation.
Ouch!
After some digging we found out that the bar became behind on rent and foreclosed. I wonder if this is because of the area that it is in or if business was not as hyped up as it may of seemed.

Toby owned the name but each restaurant was owned by someone else. Much like McDonalds are all owned by different people. The one in Syracuse was battling high rents and back taxes. It is a shame. As a concert venue the place was FABULOUS
I ate there once, two years ago.
He has a place in Norman OK that just remodeled called Tobeys. They are always busy and the food and staff are great!! Tobey has also been spotted there after OU football games.
Hire better cooks and buy descent products…your food sucks
