The exhibit features several outfits Yearwood wore for some of her most popular videos, including “Walkaway Joe.” There's also a letter from Johnny Cash, several awards and even her wedding dress! As CMT.com notes, these are the same types of items Yearwood admired from afar when she worked at the museum.
“It’s surreal,” she said. “It is really full circle for me to have worked at the Hall of Fame as a tour guide.
“When I worked here, I was so enamored by the things they had. I remember specifically they had a lot of Patsy Cline’s wardrobe that her mother had made for her. And now I have an outfit in here that my mother made for me. So I never thought about that.
“I just love country music, and I love the museum. I’m really more of a tourist. I probably wasn’t a good tour guide because I was busy looking at everything more than giving tours.”
If anyone deserves her own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame, it's certainly Yearwood! She's proven that she has staying power, remaining true to her sound and as popular as ever even as country music has changed over the years. She's a positive role models not only for other aspiring female country music performers, but for anyone who dreams of taking the stage!
