  • Remembering Roger Miller, Country Music’s “King Of The Road”

Do You Remember Country Music's Wild Child Roger Miller? He Had Some Chart Topping Hit's Back In His Day & Really Was Popular!

Country music legend Roger Miller may have died over 20 years ago, but he made quite an impression during his 35-year career, and his influence is still felt today.

So much so that website Country Rebel recently decided to honor what would have been his 80th birthday with a look back at two of his biggest hits: “Dang Me,” and “King of the Road.”

Starting his career as a songwriter, he wrote for other country legends like Jim Reeves before embarking on a successful solo career which reached its peak in the mid-1960s. He was known for his whimsical honky tonk-style hits, three of which made it to number one on theĀ Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
