  • Ashley Monroe’s Newest Country Album Receives High Reviews From Strict Critics

In 2013, with the release of “Like A Rose,” people believed that Ashley Monroe could not possibly outdo herself.  After all, Monroe's album was among the best of this decade in country music.  Monroe has the unique ability to make the listener feel like she is speaking directly to them.

Then, came along the release of “The Blade.”  Produced by none other than Vince Gill and Justin Nieback, it is destined to outdo “Like A Rose”.  Critics, even the most critical, give it rare high praise.  Words like “splendid”, “rare”, “engaging” and “heartfelt” are bandied about.  How many albums shoot to No. 1 on iTunes Country charts the very day it's released?

Even Time Magazine has fallen under Monroe's spell: “Restless and romantic, she slyly inverts Nashville sounds through the ages…Her confident, assured turn on The Blade not only provides a crucial reminder that country’s women are often the ones pushing the genre forward but offers a prime soundtrack for open-road adventures and whiskey-filled nights.”
