Vero Beach, Florida.  Golf Tournaments.  Florida State University.  None of these conjure up an image of a country music artist.  But these are the roots of Joshua Ryan “Jake” Owen.  If not for a wake-boarding accident, we'd probably be seeing him on the Golf Channel, not behind a mic.

After the accident, and reconstructive surgery, Jake taught himself to play guitar to pass the time during his recovery. He began playing small gigs at a campus bar, then decided to pursue his dreams in Nashville.   In 2006, his debut single appropriately entitled “Yee Haw” was released and his career skyrocketed. Tours with Alan Jackson. Hosting the ACM Honors.

Now, with the release of the video for his hit song, “Real Life”, Owen shows his fans a completely different side of him – dancing machine/Karate Kid.  Maybe we'll see him on “Dancing With The Stars” next? Or opening his own dojo?
