4.   Kid Rock hosted 2010's CMT Music Awards, and opened by playing a medley of his songs: Cowboy, Bawitdaba, and Good Ol' Boys.  He did this while including some guest singers for effect and publicity.  Well he nailed it as it was described as the most electrifying opening in the award show's history.  Philips commented on it by saying:

Kid Rock hit the stage as if he'd been shot out of a rifle barrel, and his energy never relented. Instantly the ‘anything-can-happen' party tone was set, and this became one of our most successful nights ever.

1.   In 2009, another CMT record was broken.  Taylor Swift decided to open the show with a skit in collaboration with rapper T-Pain.  It involved her pursuing her goals in becoming a rap star.  Her music video was titled, “Thug Story,” in place of her hit in real life, “Love Story.”  This situation went viral immediately, and became the most streamed video from CMT.com.  The President went on to say,

 We saw a flash of collaborative brilliance and humor from T-Swizzle, which hinted at the invincible worldwide powerhouse she would become.
