This past June, the CMT Music Awards was hosted by Erin Andrews and Brittany Snow. What a great job they did pulling it off! It made the President of CMT, Brian Philips, look back as he shared his most treasured moments of this special, annually broadcasted occasion.
The award show where the fans get to vote for their favorite Country music artists, based on their latest music videos and television performances, takes place in Nashville, TN every year. This year marks the CMT Music Awards' eleventh show.
Just a little piece of history: the original Country music award show aired in 1967, named the Music City News Awards. Between 1990 and 2004, the show merged with various television and news companies in order to put on the event with its' publicity. The name of the show changed about four different times, until they began sticking with the CMT Music Awards.
Cindy Watts from The Tennesseean news team had the pleasure of interviewing Philips last month. She asked the CMT President what his top five favorite memories have been and this is what he came up with. Keep in mind what your top five moments would be and see if they match the President's!
Please read onto the next page as we count down the CMT President's top five favorite memories…
