Singing competition show “The X Factor” has had it share of notable contestants, but a young man from Liverpool gave the judges — and the audience — more than they expected when he walked onto the stage with tears in his eyes, obviously nervous about singing in front of so large a crowd.
Christopher Maloney went on to explain about his family situation and the special meaning behind his song choice “The Rose,” originally performed by Bette Midler and later made a country hit by Conway Twitty.
