  • Chris Stapleton Honors Glen Campbell With Tribute Performance of Rhinestone Cowboy [Watch Here]

The legacy that Glen Campbell left is one that will never be forgotten. His fingerprint on the canvas of country music has changed it forever and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Since his passing earlier this month artists have been taking to the stage and honoring him in their own special ways. Just a few days ago country legend Tanya Tucker released a tribute song about Campbell that was inspired by her love affair with the singer back in the early 80's.  If you haven't heard it yet you should check it out HERE.

Others have taken to social media to show their outpouring of love and support to Campbells family and express just how much the singer influenced their lives. His daughter, who has been vocal about her fathers struggle with Alzheimer's even posted a photo in his memory.

Now it seems that it's Stapleton's turn. At his All-American Road Show Tour to Hersey, Pa. on Aug. 10, he prefaced his cover by discussing the death of Campbell two days prior.

“We lost a country music legend a couple days ago with the death of Glen Campbell,” he told the audience. “I’m going to try to do a Glen Campbell song tonight . . . and I’m going to send this one up to Glen wherever you are at tonight.”

Campbell was truly an icon and he will forever be missed.

Not really crazy about Chris Stapleton’s performance of Rhinestone cowboy, but music by Glen Campbell offered at the end of his tribute is great. Especially with Merle Haggard, Johnny & June, etc….
