His music is deep-rooted and he sings about love, war and loss. After knowing these small facts it is safe to say that George Strait had his work cut out for him but in the end proved his talent and took Country Music By Storm.

1. George eloped his high school sweetheart, Norma in Mexico on December 4, 1971.

2. Shortly after eloping, he enlisted in the Army.
3. When George was stationed in Hawaii, he got his start playing music with the Army-sponsored band Rambling Country.

4. After being honorably discharged, George received a degree in agriculture from Southwest Texas State University.

5. Upon completing college, George started a country group in Texas known as Ace in the Hole, who played their first show in 1975.

6. Merle Haggard is one of George's biggest influences.

7. George was in a male/female country group known as Country Kings.

8. Country Kings fired George after a gig, stating that he ‘wasn't country enough', and that his heart wasn't really in country music. Well, I think it's safe to say he showed them!

George’s life is not news to Me I have been a devoted fan ever since He started singing. He is genuine the real Country music singer. There is nobody else like Him. Awesome entertainer.
