Eli Young Band
Talk about a dynamic duo! Mike Eli and James Young started rocking the stages after meeting as college freshman at the University of North Texas. Texas sure has the cutest cowboys! They began playing guitars together and shortly after they were writing songs. Chris Thompson and Jon Jones joined them later to form a complete band. The rest was history! They have released five albums and are currently dominating the radio waves with their hit “Turn It On”
Brooks and Dunn
Country would not be the same with this crowd pleasing band! Brooks and Dunn have been a constant in the country industry since 1990! Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn founded the band at the suggestion of Tim Dubois. Before collaborating and creating the band both Kix and Ronnie were solo artists. They were both successful in their solo careers but they most certainly took things to another level when they formed Brooks and Dunn! They may have retired the band back in 2010 but they have continued on strong, their music is everywhere still today. They recently got back together for a tour with Reba, something tells me their retirement is going to be like Garth, they will be back! Undoubted one of their all time best songs was “My Maria”, take a listen! I think you will enjoy the scenery as well!
Florida Georgia Line
If you ever wondered where this band got their name, it is all in the title! You guessed it, Brian Kelley was from Florida and Tyler Hubbard was from Georgia. So original boys! All laughing aside this phenomenal band has been changing country music drastically over the last few years. They have a very distinct sound to them, think pop meets country. They both developed a love for music at a early age, participating in their churches music programs. Brian and Tyler met back in 2008 at Belmont University through a worship group. I would have never pegged these two as very religious, so interesting! For the start of their career they were independent and got discovered via satellite radio, soon after they signed on with a label One of my very favorite songs from this group is “Cruise.” I am not going to lie, I blare this song in my lifted Chevy with my windows down, so cliche I know!
Zac Brown Band
On first take you would think Zac was a one man band, but it is quite the opposite actually! He has a full band consisting of Jimmy De Martini, John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, Clay Cook, Matt Mangano and Daniel de los Reyes. That is one full stage! Zac has always had a love for music and played as a solo artist in the beginning. His big year was 2004 where he not only created his own label he opened his own restaurant, Zac's Place. Shortly after he started building the band they have today. What is so interesting is that all of the band members were regular Joe's before striking gold with the Zac Brown Band. Something about normal every day people making music and becoming so successful really gains my admiration. More then likely this is why their lyrical content is about stuff we can all relate to. One of there chart topping songs has been “Toes,” talk about my all time favorite vacation song!
Dixie Chicks
Talk about a group of fire full gals who won't take no for a answer! These gals really don't care what people have to say about them, they are who they are, personally I love them for it! The band consists of Martie Erwin Maguire , Emily Erwin Robison and Natalie Maines. Martie and Emily are sisters and were the original members of the band. Later on Natalie joined and became the lead singer. If you are wondering why we don't hear much from the Dixie Chicks in today's music there is a good reason. Back in 2010 they got a little mouthy and disrespected President Bush. I must say I don't agree with a lot of their political views, but they are incredibly talented and make great music. Not to mention it is always fun to watch them, very similar to watching a train wreck, you know something bad is going to happen but you just can't take your eyes away from it! A all time favorite from the Dixie Chicks was “Goodbye Earl,” check it out!
I always feel like I “know my band” after doing a little research on them. I love seeing their personalities and stories unfold in their music. Not to mention I feel that the band, not just the lead singer, needs a little fame and recognition. Without their melodies and talent the singer would have nothing to sing to and lets face it, you can only listen to so many acapellas without getting a little bored!
The list could go on and on of these awesome country bands. We would love to hear who your favorite band on my list is?
Do you have any juicy gossip that you would like to share, well spill it!
I never get tired of hearing about my favorite artists and bands!
