  • College Junior To Intern At The Country Music Awards

Not many college students get this awesome opportunity. If Christina ever needed to spruce up her resume then this is the one position that will set her apart from the rest.

This year at the 50th Annual Country Music Awards in Arlington, Texas on April 19, country superstars Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will host while stars like Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum find their seats.

Among all those at the AT&T Stadium, also home of the Dallas Cowboys, will be Nelson County High School graduate Christina Druen.

Druen, a junior at Emory and Henry College studying mass communications with a minor in music and business management, recently landed a summer internship with the Academy of Country Music in Los Angeles.

About a year ago, Druen was singing in the choir for part of the college’s Founder’s Day ceremony. When an award was given out to a graduate who now works for ACM, Druen’s attention was sparked.

Her work there will include an array of responsibilities from helping with events to working with the design and video production crews and helping with some print materials.

Just reading through this neat story gets me excited for all the opportunities that young Christina will have because of this internship. It just goes to show that with hard work, and a little bit of luck your dreams can certainly become reality. Here's to a bright future for her budding young career!
