With a family member coming out as gay at a very young age, I was raised to think that of course everyone should have the right to love whoever they choose. It honestly boggles my mind how people can harbor so much hate and disgust for others they have never even met before.
Why should the government have a say on someone's personal life and their future to this extent?
We separated the church from state arguably since 1776, but officially since 1791. Are they serious?
Thankfully, more people around the world are speaking up and listening to those who wish to be heard. People are calling on those of influence to help put ideas into perspective. One blogger wrote:
As more and more people in this industry [of Country music] give equal love and tolerance the green light, it’s great to see the breadth of the situation and be thankful that we have got to this point. After all, sometimes we need to dwell on the positives, even if we still have a long way to go.
