  • Country Music Dj Gwyneth Seese “Dandalion” Passes Away

The news of this is utterly depressing as we loose an important figure in Country Music. The world will never have such a determined Dj who had the fire and ambition as Dj. Seese.

Gwyneth “Dandalion” Seese, the country music disc jockey honored with numerous awards for the all-night show she hosted for nearly 20 years, has died.

Seese died Friday at a northeastern Pennsylvania long-term care facility after a long illness., She was 77.

Dandalion was a popular DJ on stations WCAT-FM 106.7 in Carlisle and WRKZ-FM 102.3 in Elizabethtown before she retired from her all-night show in 2000.

In 1999, she became the first woman in the history of country music to host her own network show, “Dandalion’s Cat Country Network.”

The first woman in country music to be nominated for the industry’s top three DJ awards:
    The Academy of Country Music
    Country Music Association
    Billboard.
She was nominated for all three awards simultaneously in 1989.

The first woman named the Academy of Country Music’s Top Country Disc Jockey and in 1999 she became only the second woman inducted into the Country DJ Hall of Fame.

    Keep The Memory Alive
