When I think about the all time country bad boy I think of George Jones. The world would be a boring place if everyone was the same and even more boring if every was a perfect saint. In country music we sure seem to have a lot of these characters. Especially when we take a peak back at some of the original artists.
He was a drinking, swearing and no showing kind of a guy. He was incredibly talented and produced some amazing music. He is almost like the Lindsay Lohan of past times. People acted so shocked at the antics of many of the young stars today, but this is nothing new! For many the fame and riches pushes them to a ugly place where they think they are untouchable.
George's life was a open book. He suffered from alcohol addiction and abusive tendencies. He had become such a flake at one point he gained the industry nick name of “No Show Jones” after repeatedly not showing up for performances. In his later life he finally realized that drinking was destroying his life and straightened out.
