When it comes to NHL hockey versus a Garth Brooks concert, hockey just won big time. Due to a conflict with Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Chicago Blackhawks, Garth Brooks has canceled all three shows on his Tour that were originally scheduled for June 5th and 6th at the Amalie Arena. Those fans who purchased tickets for the Brooks concerts will be issued a full refund.
On behalf of The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood it is with deep regret that we must cancel the Tampa shows due to unexpected scheduling by the NHL and NBC on June 6 for the 2015 Stanley Cup Final. We had hoped to be able to reach an acceptable solution in the best interest of all involved but due to safety considerations it is just not possible.
The Garth Brooks World Tour, which kicked off last September, has just three more events following the previously-scheduled Tampa concerts, making the cancellation of these shows particularly frustrating for fans who had been waiting for these final stops on the tour.
