Over the years country music has gone through some immense changes. Some for the better and some for the worst. It is all in the eye of the beholder. Change can be a great thing but another thought process is why change something that is not broken. Country music used to be primarily about romance and truly pulled at your heart strings. From sappy love songs and emotional break up tales the artists really let you into their life and heart. Songs had feelings and in exchange really made you feel something. After all most people associate certain songs with certain memories and life moments, that gets a little difficult in today's lyrics.
How many songs about drinking beer and partying do we really need?
Don't get me wrong I love a song that I can laugh to and bust a move to, but I also miss those classics that make me feel something. Country music should not be hip hop in my book, call me old school if you wish. Apparently I am not the only one who feels this way. Reba McEntire, one of countries biggest legend, has a pretty strong opinion on today's music scene and how it seems to have lost its path over the years.
