  • What Country Music is Lacking

If you know anything about Country Music and Celebrities Reba always tells it how it is….

‘There's more men on the radio than women,” Reba noted of what has changed in the country music scene since she began her career. “It went to a stage of good-ol'-boy, pickup-truck, gotta-go-down-to-the-river, that kind of stuff. And I'm missing the romance.”

Reba was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in May 2011 and last fall she became the flagship artist of Nash Icon Music, a joint operation between Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus Media.

Reba's “Somebody's Chelsea” is the perfect example of romance! I'm not going to lie, this song makes me get butterflies in my stomach and tears spring to my eyes. Literally I am sniffling as I write right now! Romance is real and it is still alive today, it just seems to have been lost by many artists. Possibly it is due to the fact that many artists are starting their careers so young and really have no “life experience” behind them to inspire such powerful lyrics. What ever the reason is I sure hope we see a change in the industry, lets go back and find our roots!
