  • Young Celebrity Impersonator Joins Hunter Hayes On Stage During The Carolina Country Music Fest

Can you imagine being only 11-years old and having this opportunity! Hunter Hay's saw that and instantly knew that the only way this kid was going to make it was if he got a little leg up.

Landon says, “I met him on his bus earlier and we ran through the songs,” almost giddy. “We decided to do ‘Secret Love’ because it would give it more intensity.”  The home-schooled rising sixth-grader has been impersonating Hayes with the Mini Starz organization, which is made up of young performers who impersonate celebrity singers. Landon has performed as Justin Bieber and will perform as [Hunter] Hayes and Ed Sheeran this summer twice a week in Myrtle Beach.  “Hunter Hayes is my favorite though,” he said. “He’s a really good guy and he’s really humble. And he plays all the instruments there are.”

Hayes also met with Savanna Thompson, the inspiration for the $3,000,000 construction project of a new playground for children with disabilities.

Full House Productions, the team behind the scenes of organizing this annual festival, will be donating a portion of the overall ticket sales to “Savannah's Playground.”

They are planning to raise $1.5 million for the project.  Shiela Fletcher of the organization team has already donated $10,000 this year.

The Carolina Country Music Fest has been gaining more and more followers and festival goers in recent years.  So much in fact that its' organizers deemed it necessary to add one more day to the line-up of performers this year.  Furthermore, it was so successful that the festival's organizing team are already thinking about what to do next year, and adding on even more days.

Bob Durkin, president of Full House Productions, said he was incredibly happy with [how the festival turned out].  “It’s been phenomenal.  I’m excited. I’m touched by how much Myrtle Beach, all of the Carolinas, the Southeast has come to support it.”  The festival capped off Sunday night with a performance from Lady Antebellum and organizers said they were very happy with the weekend, which also included a kickoff concert Thursday featuring Sam Hunt.  “Adding that fourth day wasn’t the original plan, but it really worked out well,” Durkin said.

The head liners for 2015's Carolina Country Music Fest included: Sam Hunt, Rascal Flatts, Colt Ford, Lady Antebellum, Big & Rich, Kellie Pickler, and Eric Church.  Many performers and local festival-goers expressed that they would return if the festival were to happen next year.

“It was amazing,” Tammy Sessoms of Cheraw, South Carolina said. “It’s something they always have in places like Nashville or Texas – places we’re never going. Plus, when you go somewhere familiar because you’re comfortable getting around and knowing where you’re staying.”

It's great how more and more cities like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are creating family-friendly festivals, activities and concerts for those around them to enjoy.  Given the down economy, more families are unable to travel and vacation like they used to ten years ago.  Festival goers said if you would want to see something like the CCMF, you would have to go to Nashville or certain places in Texas.  Music really does change lives; therefore, I'm glad the music festival scene is growing every year.  If you were to attend a music festival, how far would you travel?  Which one(s) would you be interested in going to?
