Judging by the past few years, it's not unexpected for someone out-of-the-norm to switch gears and produce a country album.
Some are not surprising – Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock consistently teeter on the “Southern Fried Rock” and Country Music line.
Others are more of a complete shock, including Steven Tyler (yes, the one from Aerosmith), Darius Rucker (of Hootie & the Blowfish ) and Aaron Lewis (lead singer of Staind).
Country music artists and fans are known for their Southern charm and for the most part, been very accepting of the cross-over artists (with the exception of Jessica Simpson).
I guess if you think you're entitled AND forget lyrics while performing, people tend to get irritated.
The newest is a former Eagle who has announced he is throwing his hat into the country music ring after five yeasrs of producing and perfecting his first album.
