It's been no secret that Glen Campbell has been battling Alzheimer's for quite some time now. Before the disease took too much away from him he was able to release his final album, partner with some old friends and sing the songs that he truly loved.

But as time goes on…the battle rages.

No one feels it more than his wife and children who have to watch as the one they love slips away. To look at photos of this country icon you can see the light dimming from his eyes. The youthfulness and fire that were once there now extinguished by this vile taking.

This past Fathers Day his daughter posted a tribute to him that can only be described as heartbreaking.

We can only hope that a small part of him remembers the joy he has brought to our lives even if our paths never crossed and that no matter what his legacy lives on.
