Tammy Wynette and George Jones are both household names to anyone who hasn't been living under a rock and their country music legacy lives on through their music and through their daughter! So what do you do when both of your parents are two of the finest voices in country music history?
You sing of course!
With an amazing mix of both parents, Georgette Jones' voice is a force to be reckoned with and while her parents may both be gone, the world can hear their influence carried on through their daughter.
To honor her late mother Georgette chose to sing her classic “D-I-V-O-R-C-E,” a heartbreaking tribute to the struggle her mother went through when he was just a little girl.
“It seems like yesterday or like forever ago depending on the moment,” Georgette wrote on her Facebook page in remembrance of her mother. “I love and miss her very much and will do my best to remember and honor her today and every day in a positive way.”
“D-I-V-O-R-C-E” was released by her mother, Tammy Wynette, in 1968 and it went on to earn her a #1 spot on the Billboard Music Charts and became an anthem for women everywhere.
You can listen to her rendition of “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” below.
