  • The song and the inspiration: The Life of a Rodeo Cowboy

After a conversation with her nephew who at the time was a professional rodeo cowboy Seeley knew that she had something special on her hands. In fact, when he left she got to work penning the first lyrics that would become the country hit.

“Well, it really has been nice bein’ with you / But I’m afraid that I’ve got to leave / As you know, I’m a rodeo cowboy / And there’s a rodeo down in Mesquite.”

You never know where your inspiration will come from or who you will inspire. Seeley's nephew was just doing his job and chatting with his aunt about his life when next thing you know his life is the subject of a song sung by one of the greatest country artists of all time!

So just as we promised below you will find the interview with Seely as her album comes out on Jan 13th and just below that is the legendary song Life of a Rodeo Cowboy. Let us know what you think!
