It seems that country music isn't what it once was and a lot of country music legends are starting to speak out about it.
We all know that things evolve over time. Things change and nothing can remain the same forever. This is true even in music. Yet while things can change should it really change so much to the point where it is unrecognizable anymore?
It seems that there is a disconnect between what is being played on country radio and what is considered country music. Now, most people would just shake their head and tell the haters to to move it along but what happens when the haters are the very people you grew up idolizing?

So very true. They think if they say Merle, Waylon or other artists that are True Blue Country, that they are country, what a Joke. Where are the steel guitars, where Is the story in the songs of today. Real Country Is Classy not Trashy. They say the same thing over and over and the instruments drown out the words . And the dance moves are surely not country . The women’s clothing is like a street walker. It makes Mr very sad that people loose themselves so they sell records. These women of today need to cover up. And all the so called country artists need to listen to the Real Country Artists.

I’ve been a fan of Lori’s and her dad for a long time. To me country was Roy Acuff, Loretta Lynn, Ernest Tubbs and so many more! I realize most are gone now but there are others that are still here and also new talent. I didn’t mind it so much when they were called Southern Rock (a genre of it’s own), but now it’s pop too. I feel like they stole our music, a huge part of our life! I feel rap kinda took over the pop and pushed them into our country.lol if that makes sense!
There has to be a way and Lorrie has a great idea. I wouldn’t Ming going back to records, tapes or CD’s.

I definitely agree with Lori. I tune into a country station, can’t stand listening more than a few minutes. Start digging out our real country CD’s…. now that’s COUNTRY!!!?!!!!
