In a news conference on Thursday (Dec. 1), Gatlinburg Mayor Mike Werner said, “We’re such a strong community, we’re such a family. Gatlinburg is the people. It’s not the buildings. It’s not the stuff in the house. It’s the people. We’re the strongest community I’ve ever seen. We’re going to come back strong. It’s going to happen.”
